About the Gulf Coast Prospect & Shale Expo

Presented by the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, the Gulf Coast Prospect & Shale Expo (GCPSE) was formed to link Gulf Coast oil and gas prospect sellers to Gulf Coast oil and gas prospect buyers, GCPSE is for both the one-man generator and some of the largest companies in the oil and gas industry. In it’s fourteenth year, there is no where else you can go within the boundaries of the industry to have these kind of business opportunities, a look at the newest trends, and this much activity with your colleagues surrounded by the ambience of the south. Attendance represents virtually all of the players in the gulf coast market.

There are many avenues for oil and gas service and supply companies to benefit from participating in GCPSE. Breakfast, lunch and reception sponsorships are available, as well as advertisement opportunities.

Louisiana oil and gas association (loga)
LOGALOGA (known before 2006 as LIOGA) was organized in 1992 to represent the independent and service sectors of the oil and gas industry in Louisiana; this representation includes exploration, production and oilfield services. Our primary goal is to provide our industry with a working environment that will enhance the industry. LOGA serves its membership by creating incentives for Louisiana’s oil & gas industry, warding off tax increases, changing existing burdensome regulations, and educating the public and government of the importance of the oil and gas industry in the state of Louisiana. LOGA confronts and deals directly with the many issues that are causing harm to the oil and gas industry.

Letter from the chairman - BRUCE N. SMITH
Diana Chance, Donner PropertiesDear Colleague, For many years now I have had both the honor and privilege of working with the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) as a member, a board director, and in 2004 as Chairman of the Gulf Coast Prospect Expo (GCPE). When the call went out to select the 2009 Chairman, everyone else must have been tied up and the staff at LOGA must have developed a memory loss of my previous turn as Chairman, but however it came about, once again I have the privilege of being this year’s 2009 Chairman.

At my age, reflection is not always a good thing. In looking back on 2004’s GCPE I seem to remember an up cycle event in a usually cyclical industry, with stable oil and gas prices, lots of prospects, good attendance and, as always, a great Southern Louisiana experience. After the collapse of the US markets in 2008, I am not sure what our industry will look like in October of 2009.

One thing I do know, however, is that the kickoff conference call for this year’s GCPE told me two things: (1) the members of the Board of LOGA are an insightful, creative and visionary group and, (2) this year’s concept for GCPE comes with perfect timing and a new and creative direction.

So with that in mind we have decided to “take the show on the road”, and what a better place could you find than Shreveport, Louisiana, the heart of the latest “hot” play, the Haynesville Shale. After a very insightful and thoughtful discussion, the 2009 GCPE Advisory Board has decided that the venerable Gulf Coast Prospect Expo needs to include all of the various shale plays in our venue that are currently supporting many local economies, advancing technological innovations in drilling and completion and spurring a boom that now only supports our industry and will be a driving force in our energy security and a cleaner environment.

So if you are actively pursuing prospects in the Haynesville, Marcellus, Barnett, Woodford, Fayetteville, Bakken or any other shale play please join us in Shreveport for the Gulf Coast Prospect & Shale Expo. Please don’t forget that this expo has always attracted and will continue to feature some of the best prospects to be found anywhere on the Gulf Coast.
As I see it, the Gulf Coast Prospect & Shale Expo will be the place to be in October! Commodity prices are climbing back and the industry is weathering the latest downturn with its usual tenacity, so please join us in Shreveport for a great time and if you have not experienced a LOGA event you are in for a treat!

Sincerely,
Bruce N. Smith
